The SJV Chess Club is open to any student in Grades 2 through 8 who would like to learn to play chess or improve his or her game. Parents are always welcome to attend since it is my hope that chess can be something that parents and children can enjoy together.

The Chess Club meets in the school cafeteria from 3:15 PM until 4:30 PM. Parents need to pick up their children at the school office doors.

The regular club meetings will begin with about 20 minutes of instructional time followed by the students playing chess. Students are encouraged to bring a snack to eat during the instructional period. I ask that no one eat or drink while playing a game or using the chess equipment.

Please remind your children that all school rules apply during Chess Club.

When your child attends his or=2 her first club meeting, I will send home a sign up sheet with additional club information.
